Duration: 9-10 hrs (Drive)
Your journey begins with a scenic drive from Dehradun or Rishikesh to Lohajung, one of the most charming villages in the Kumaon Himalayas. The road passes through river valleys, mountain towns, and winding forest roads, offering glimpses of terraced farms and distant snow peaks. By evening, arrive at Lohajung and settle into your guesthouse. This peaceful village offers beautiful sunset views over the surrounding ridges and prepares you for the snow adventure ahead.
Day 2: Lohajung to Bekaltal Camp
Altitude: 3,031 m / 9,947 ft
Trek Distance: 6 km
Duration: 4-5 hrs
The trek begins with a steady ascent through oak and rhododendron forests. As you gain altitude, the trail opens into snowy forest clearings and small meadows. After a scenic climb, you reach Bekaltal, a beautiful high-altitude lake surrounded by dense trees and winter snow. The frozen lake, especially in winter months, creates a magical setting for your first campsite in the Himalayas.

Trek Distance: 7 km
Duration: 6-7 hrs
Today’s trail gradually climbs above the forest line, revealing expansive snow-covered meadows and ridge walks. The views of Mt. Trishul and Nanda Ghunti begin to dominate the skyline. The route passes through serene forest sections before opening into the alpine basin of Brahmatal Base Camp, one of the most stunning campsites in Uttarakhand. Spend the evening enjoying golden sunset hues over the Himalayan peaks.
