Hampta Pass is one of the most breathtaking and adventurous treks of Himachal Pradesh located in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas. Hampta Village is located below the Sethan Village. The highlight of this trek is that you will get to enjoy the views of nature from both sides of Kullu Valley and Lahaul Valley. The Hampta Pass is at height of 14,100 Ft, distance of 26 km and takes 5 days to complete.
The trek trail is filled with alpine flowers, conifer forest, snow covered glaciers, wildflowers fields. This trek is easy to moderate so if you have little experience of trekking, you can surely go for this one. Peaks like Mount Indrasen, Deo Tibba and many more can be enjoyed when you reach the peak. The night will be the most beautiful with a sky full of glittering stars and cool breeze in the atmosphere. The weather will get much cooler at night, make sure you have enough clothes to face the winters

- Manali To Chika Manali To Chika
The journey will start from Manali from where you will drive to Jobra. Jobra is at an altitude of 9,800ft and will take 2 hours from Manali. After reaching Jobra, the trek will begin here from Allain Guhugal Hydel Project junction. It will take 45 minutes to cover the trek. During the way, you will find deodar trees, maple trees and oak trees and then a sharp bend opening to beautiful lush meadows . After covering a certain distance you will come across Rani Nallah flowing between the meadows, you may spot cattles grazing in the field. Moving further, you will reach Chika at the end route of the meadows. Chika is a huge campsite with lush fields all around. Set up tents and stay the night here
- Chika to Balu ka Ghera
Today you will trek to balu ka ghera, which is at the right side of Chika. Follow the left bank of the river on your right side. The path is quite easy and is filled with Rhododendron trees. Experience the beauty of your surroundings with snow covered Dhauladhar peaks. After crossing the waterfall, take left of the river. You need to cross the river on tiny rocks and will reach Jwara. Jwara is a beautiful valley with snow covered hills with a river flowing alongside. You may spot cattle grazing in the area. Before you, lies the snow clad mountains and behind them lies the Hampta Pass. Moving further, the trek will be filled with beautiful flowers and will take half an hour to reach the end of the valley at Jwara. After Jwara, move along the rocky slopes and reach Balu ka Ghera. This place is covered with snow and lush greenery, but it is said that this place was covered with sand. Balu ka Ghera is a campsite amidst huge mountains that will be crossed on Day 3 to reach the Hampta Pass
- Balu ka Ghera to Siagoru
Today’s trek will be done in two parts. First a steady ascent to the steep slope to Hampta Pass at 14,100 ft, then a sharp descent to Sia Goru. Start moving further along the river enjoying the enchanting view of multicolored flowers. Keep walking for the next 60 minutes and you will reach a plateau covered with snow. Then you will reach another plateau and then a ridge, moving further to the second ridge, Hampa Pass will be in view. It will take 15 minutes to reach Hampa Pass but the view it will give will be unforgettable views all around you. Have lunch and then be ready for the next destination to Siagoru.
The descent will be difficult and is quite steep. You can spot Spiti from here. After descending for half an hour , you will reach the base of the valley covered with snow, from there you will move to Siagoru. Trek to Siagoru is quite easy. It will be your campsite for today. Set up camps and stay the night here.
- Siagoru to Chatru drive to Chandratal
Today the trek will be from Siagoru to Chatru and it will take 5 hours to complete. The altitude of Siagoru is 12, 900ft and Chatru at 11, 000ft. The trail will be along the river and then you reach Chatru. The route wil be quite tricky with slippery ways . The descent will take 2 hours to complete. Crossing the glacier you will reach Chatru, today’s camping site made by the concurrence of Hampta, Rohtang and Spiti.
- Chatru to Manali
Today comes the trek to an end with a drive from Chatru to Manali. The drive will take around 6 hours and along the way enjoy the beauty of hills, reach Manali by the evening
